Here in the west Hatha Yoga has become quite popular. But Hatha Yoga was never intended to be practiced as it's own separate system. It is not a separate form or "path" of yoga. It is only the physical branch of Raja Yoga. Raja Yoga, "the royal yoga", has been practiced for thousands of years. It is a direct and scientific method for attaining ones highest potential on all levels.
Sunday Gentle Yoga
Very Gentle Yoga focuses on stretching the body slowly, with patience and compassion and meditating in deeply restorative postures. A restorative yoga posture is a way to balance and reset the hormone levels of the brain. Each posture can be used as a therapeutic tool for releasing stress and tension from the physical body, calming emotions and simultaneously harnessing the mind to create a more positive outlook. This style of yoga has often been compared to a "mental vacation" or an "internal massage" and will work for all levels from beginners to more advanced yogis looking to deepen their yoga practice. Each class will have a different theme or area each class (like shoulders and neck) and include essential breathing techniques, chants, with beginning and restorative yoga postures. Mastery of these deeply relaxing techniques over time can transform your life from the inside out and allow more energy to flow throughout your life.
